Every insurance company has a policy for how they handle claims.  We participate in some, but not all direct repair programs.  Our office staff is familiar with the claims handling processes of insurance companies and will guide you through it.  Whether or not it is your company or another party's that is paying for the reapirs, and whether or not the company has a direct repair program, we will answer your questions and provide the company with the information they need to assure that your vehicle is repaired properly.

No.  Our industry doesn't require certification or continuing education.  That's why it is so important for you - the consumer - to know the commitment of the shop to continuing education or training.  Unfortunately not all shop owners are willing to invest in training for their employees.  The result is that there are technicians who are not up to date on how to repair today's vehicles.

If a shop offers to save your deductible, be aware of the kind of repair you are getting.  The old warning "You get what you pay for."  applies to the saving of deductibles.  Inferior repairs can compromise the safety of your vehicle and may diminish its value by hundreds or thousands of dollars at trade-in time!   Ask the collision center professional to explain all the repairs that are needed to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition.  Understand what will be repaired and what will be replaced and why.  Understand if replacement parts will be new original equipment, used or aftermarket.  Beware of shops that will "pay your deductible."  Will they be compromising the safety and quality of the repair to do so?  Will they be billing the insurance company for repairs that aren't done or parts that aren't replaced?  Make sure you know what you are getting!

At Minot's Finest Collision Center we may be able to find a way to save part or all of your deductible obligation with an appearance allowance.  There may be some damage for which you are entitiled to be paid that you are willing to live with (scuffs, scratches, etc.)  We can work with your insurance company to forego the repairs in lieu of your deductible.
